Lt. Henry Philip Livingston (1760-1802)
Second-in-Command of Washington's Life Guard
He was born in New York City and graduated from Princeton. In 1777, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant and second in command of George Washington's Life Guard in the Continental Army, seeing action at the Battle of Brandywine. He later preceded to Philadelphia with the army of General Lafayette. After his father died in 1778, he inherited £700 and a full share of his considerable estate. He was married twice (to the sisters Marian and Susannah Moorehead) and had eight children.
