Henry Paulinus Wiborg (1823-1867)

Norwegian Deckhand, of Cleveland, Ohio

He was a Norwegian immigrant who was either a deckhand on a lake steamer (as per family legend) or "one of the pioneer businessmen of Cleveland" as he is described in his son's entry in the Centennial History of Cincinnati. According to family legend, he died of pneumonia after saving the victims of a boat accident. His wife remarried a man with whom their elder son did not get on and the son, Frank, left home for Cincinnati to seek his fortune, later becoming a multi-millionaire as the co-founder of the Ault & Wiborg Printing Ink Co., marrying into society, and moving to New York.
