Henry Benedict Lockwood (1852-1917)

"Harry" B. Lockwood, of "Casa Blanca" Riverside, California

He served with the New York 7th Regiment in the Civil War. In 1869, he accompanied Dr Isaac Israel Hayes (1832-1881) in his expedition to the Arctic on the ship Panther. He was a member of the New York Stock Exchange and belonged to the Union League Club and the Baltimore Cricket Club. He came to California in 1878 and successfully devoted himself to the cultivation of oranges and raisons on his farm at Riverside.
