Henry Ayling Phillips (1852-1926)

Henry A. Phillips B.Sc., Landscape Architect, of Boston & Millbury, Massachusetts

He was born at Boston, Massachusetts. He studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1873) and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1875-1876). He was a member of the Boston Society of Architects and the Boston Society of Civil Engineers. He kept offices in Boston but after marrying his wife in 1888, he took up with her childhood home, the Asa Waters Mansion in Millbury. He was a member of the New England Historic Genealogy Association and wrote a book on the history of his wife's family, the Waters. He was an active member of civic life in Millbury.
