Henry Austin Tailer (1833-1878)
Lawyer, of 2 East 12th Street, New York City
He graduated from Columbia College (New York) and continued his education at the Universities of Bonn and Heidelberg in Germany. Returning to New York, he became a partner in the law firm of Eaton, Davis & Tailer. In addition, he was a director of several banks and corporations, and "a staunch friend of the public schools, for the welfare of which he devoted much thought and labor."
