Gulian Verplanck (1698-1751)

Gulian Ver Planck/Verplanck, Merchant, of New York City & "Mount Gulian"

He was a business partner of Robert Livingston of Clermont and purchased 500,000-acres of the original Hardenburgh Patent in the Catskills. He built "Mount Gulian" near Fishkill. By 1845, this land had passed to his unmarried grand-daughter, Charlotte DeLancey Verplanck, of New York City.
