Grenville Lindall Winthrop (1864-1943)
of New York & Groton Place, Lenox, Mass.; Benefactor of the Fogg Art Museum
His wife was the daughter and heiress of John B. Trevor of "Glenview" Yonkers, from whom she inherited over a million dollars. Their daughters were educated by private tutors but despite their father's attentive parenting, they both eloped with the help: one with a chauffeur, the other one with an electrician.
