George Theodore Lyman (1821-1908)
of "Woodacres" Bellport, Long Island, New York
He was born in Paris, France. On graduating from Harvard (1842) he joined the eastern trade in Boston and travelled extensively. He spent the last twenty years of his life in retirement at his estate "Woodacres" at Bellport on Long Island. He married Sarah "Sally" Otis of Boston and was survived by his daughter-in-law and two daughters: Mrs. Albert Meredith of Milton and Mrs. William Platt Pepper of Philadelphia.
