George Ogilvy Hague (1859-1905)

"Geordie" Haig, of 65 Brook Street, Mayfair, London

He was born in Edinburgh to the John Haig & Co. whisky family. His younger brother was Field Marshal Douglas Haig, 1st Earl Haig, who commanded the British Army on the Western Front in the First World War. He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge. In 1896, he married the American divorcée, Mrs. Charlotte (Astor) Drayton. They lived in London at 65 Brook Street off Grosvenor Square but he died just nine years later, after which she lived the remainder of her life in Paris. His widow had three children by her first marriage, but he died without any children of his own.
