George Mifflin (1688-1758)

of Philadelphia; Owner of the Colebrookdale Furnace & Provincial Councillor

He was born at "Fountain Green" Philadelphia. He was admitted a Freeman (1717) and became a merchant, owner of the Colebrookdale Furnace (opened in 1720 it was the oldest in Pennsylvania), a Member of the Philadelphia City Council, and a Member of the Governor's Council (1730).
