George McClenachan (1769-1833)

George McClenachan, of Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania

He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Princeton. He obtained a land patent in Lower Merion (where his father built "Olinda" for his sisters) on which he built a three story stone merchant mill, a two-story grist mill, a stone paper mill, a sawmill, and his house. He married Mary, daughter of Isaac and Meribah Morris and they were the parents of six sons and three daughters, including: Mary (d.1867), who married Thomas Penn-Gaskell (1794-1846) "of Shanagarry, Co. Cork" and Penn Hall/Lodge in Lower Merion, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
