George Edward Gouraud (1842-1912)
Lt.-Col. G.E. Gouraud, of "Little Menlo" Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood, London
He won the Medal of Honor as Captain with the Union Army in the Civil War. Afterwards, he was Thomas Edison's agent in Europe and he gave a demonstration of the first phonograph at his home in Upper Norwood, London.
