George Eastman (1854-1932)

Founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, of Rochester, New York

He lived at 900 East Avenue (see images) in Rochester, New York. He never married and gave away over $100-million to charity during his lifetime. In 1918, he came in at 23rd on the first ever Forbes Rich List with an estimated personal fortune of $50-million, tied with James B. Duke, Jacob Schiff, Pierre S. Du Pont II, Louis Swift, Julius Rosenwald, Mrs. Lawrence Lewis and Henry Phipps.
