George Caspar Crowninshield (1812-1857)

G.C. Crowninshield, of Boston & Brookline, Massachusetts

He moved from Salem to Boston where he married the heiress Harriet Sears, daughter of David Sears. After his marriage he lived with his family at 41 Beacon Street, next to the David Sears House which was his wife's childhood home, while also keeping a summer home at Brookline. He and Harriet were the parents of three children: General Crowninshield; Mrs John Quincy Adams II; and, Mrs Boyden.
