George Baptist Mackay (1874-1924)
Lt. George B. Mackay, Hardware Merchant, of Lethbridge, Alberta
He fought and was wounded in the Boer War as a Lieutenant with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles. Afterwards, he joined the Alberta Railway & Coal Company and later became a hardware merchant at Lethbridge, Alberta. In 1906, he married Laura, the third daughter of Lt.-Colonel Nathaniel Higinbotham, M.P., of Guelph, South Wellington, Ontario.
