George Adair (1784-1873)
George Adair, J.P., D.L., of Bellegrove, High Sheriff of Co. Laois
He inherited sugar plantations in the West Indies which enabled him to build Bellegrove House at Rathdaire in 1835. He married the daughter of the Dean of Kildare and their only child built Glenveagh Castle in Co. Donegal.
