Gabriel Stelle (1685-1738)
Colonel Gabriel Stelle, of Shrewsbury, New Jersey
He was the son of French Huguenots and was most likely born in New York. He received a patent for a ferry running from South Amboy via Perth Amboy to Staten Island. He used his wealth to buy up land in and around Shrewsbury.
