Frederick Wistar Morris (1842-1916)

Iron Manufacturer, of Philadelphia & "Dundale" Villa Nova, Pennsylvania

He was born at Philadelphia and joined the family firm of Morris, Wheeler & Co., Iron Dealers, of 1608 Market Street, Philadelphia. On retiring, he moved permanently to "Dundale" (built 1886-90 by architect Addison Hutton) at Villa Nova, Pennsylvania, on an estate that had been been bought by his father from 1874. In 1866, he married Elizabeth, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Wheeler) Paul. They were survived by six of their seven children including Mrs Marian Thayer, Titanic survivor.
