Frederic Cameron Church (1857-1937)

of Fred C. Church Insurance, Lowell, Massachusetts

He was born at Lowell, Massachusetts. He did not attend college but joined his father's insurance business. In 1865, he established Fred C. Church, Insurance, setting up shop at 53 Central Street in Lowell's Center Block building. In 1882, he was one of the twenty co-founders of the Highland Club at Lowell which later became the Yorick Club before closing its doors in 1979. He married Ella, daughter of Joshua Hanchett. Their son, Frederic Jr., was the first husband of Muriel Vanderbilt.
