Frankin Hughes Delano (1813-1893)
Franklin H. Delano, of Steen Valetje, Rhinebeck New York
He was a partner in the New York shipping firm of Grinnell, Minturn & Company. He and his wife did not have any children and aside from living at the house they christened Steen Valetje (today much altered and better known as the Atalanta Estate) they spent much of their time in Europe at Italy and Monte Carlo. He was the uncle of Sara Delano who was the mother of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
