Franklin Chamberlin (1821-1896)

Franklin Chamberlin, of Hartford, Conn.; Attorney & State Representative

He was born at Dalton, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard Law School (1844), was admitted to the Bar at Boston (1854) and came to Hartford in about 1860 where he went into practice with Ezra Hall. He was elected a Member of the Connecticut House of Representatives (1865) and from 1874 his firm became known as Chamberlin, White & Mills. In 1865, he marred Mary, sister of Samuel Quincy Porter, Delegate to Republican National Convention from Connecticut.
