Florence (Matthews) Pratt (1859-1932)

Mrs Florence Adelaide (Matthews) Pratt

She was one of the co-heiresses of the founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, Isaac Singer. In later life, blackmailers became so insidious that when she died she left £30,000 to her bodyguard, ex-Chief Inspector Stockley of Scotland Yard, who had successfully kept them at bay for those years.
