Emma (Lee) Christie (1875-1954)

Mrs Emma Louise (Lee) Christie, of Toronto

She was born in Toronto where she was educated at Miss Neville's School. She was a co-founder of the Canadian National Institution for the Blind and after founding a Home for Incurable Soldiers was its Treasurer for many years. "During the Great War she was extremely active as a worker in the interests of a number of patriotic and relief funds, especially as a member of the Committee of the Belgian Relief Fund". On February 20th, 1895, she married Robert Jaffray Christie and they were the parents of three children. After her husband's death, she was said to have travelled extensively.
