Mrs Emily Meredith (Read) Stout, Spencer

She was born at Albany, New York. In 1884, she was married at Newport, Rhode Island to her first husband, Hon. Francis Aquila Stout, President of the Nicaragua Canal Company, son of A. G. Stout and Anne Morris, of Morrissania. He died at the Thousand Islands, July 18, 1892. Anne Morris was a granddaughter of Col. Lewis Morris, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. Emily married her second husband, Edwards Spencer (a descendant of Jonathan Edwards, President of Princeton), at Paris.
