Élisabeth de Gramont (1875-1954)

Antonia Corisande Élisabeth (de Gramont) Duchesse de Clermont-Tonnerre

She was born into the heart of French aristocratic society but became known as the "Red Duchess" for her socialist views. She was the lifetime partner of the outspoken American author playwright Natalie Clifford Barney, though Barney did not believe in monogamy and Élisabeth had to graciously accept her various other lovers.
