Eleonora (Woolsey) Burton (1805-1828)

Mrs Eleonora Lemoine (Woolsey) Burton

She appears holding up a hoop in this 1809 portrait of the Woolsey family in Quebec, painted by William Berczy. In 1822, she married Lt. Samuel Judge Burton. For the benefit of her health she was advised to travel to the south of France, but died at St. Helier, Jersey, before she got there. She was survived by two daughters.
