Eleanor (Warren) Crean (1776-1860)

Mrs Eleanor La Touche (Warren) Crean

She was born in Dublin, the daughter of The Rt. Hon. Nathaniel Warren M.P., Lord Mayor of Dublin and a first cousin of Sir William Johnson, 1st Bt., of New York. Her husband died at Madrid in Spain in 1831 and in 1834 Eleanor removed with her family from Dublin to New York City. She had four children (listed). Her daughter, Henrietta, married James Gordon Bennett, the founder of the New York Herald.
