Edwin Samuel Cramp (1853-1913)
Vice-President of the William Cramp & Son's Ship & Engine Building Co.
He was the the owner of Cramp's Shipyard in Philadelphia and the last member of the Cramp family identified with the famous shipbuilding firm established by his grandfather. After retiring in 1907, he took an active interest in politics and local affairs in Philadelphia. As a member of the Committee of One Hundred there he succeeded in inducing the Council to appropriate funds for the improvement of the water front. He was a member of the Metropolitan Club of Washington, New York Yacht Club, Philadelphia Rittenhouse, Art Club, Union League, Pennsylvania Society, and the Engineers' Club. He died at his home in New York, 829 Park Avenue. He had 2-daughters.
