Edward Thomas Bedford (1849-1931)

E.T. Bedford, of Westport, CT; President of the Corn Products Refining Co., etc.

Bedford was a Founder and President of the Corn Products Refining Co., a director of the  Standard Oil Company of New Jersey, and a generous philanthropist who among other gifts built the YMCA at Westport - recognized today as the Bedford Middle School. His philanthropy continues today through the Edward T. Bedford Foundation and Bedford Park in the Bronx was named for him by his friend - Winston Churchill's grandfather - Leonard Jerome
