Edward Sherman Gould (1837-1905)
Engineer, of 59 Hawthorne Avenue, Yonkers, New York & Bay Head, New Jersey
He was born in New York City and became a noted waterworks engineer. He built the waterworks in the City of Havana and in the year before his death he was appointed to the committee for the Central Hudson Railroad Company to eliminate grade crossings. He died of pneumonia while staying at the Hotel Aldine in New York City. He was survived by his widow, Belle Ludlow, granddaughter of Daniel Ludlow, 1st President of the Manhattan Company. They lived between her childhood home in Yonkers and their summer home at Bay Head, New Jersey. They had four children (listed).
