Edward Macomber Padelford (1857-1921)
of Morgan, Harjes & Co., Bankers; of Roosevelt Hall, Skaneateles, New York
He was a grandson of Edward Nathaniel Padelford (1799-1870) who came from Massachusetts to Georgia where he made a fortune in cotton and founded a bank. Edward's wife was one of the two "handsome Smythe girls" and they also kept houses at 27 Rue des Longchamps in Paris and a summer home at Lenox, Massachusetts. He had one daughter by his first marriage, Florence, who married Robert Grosvenor, 1st Baron Ebury, uncle of the 1st Duke of Westminster.
