Edward Burnett (1849-1925)

Edward Burnett, Dairy Expert & U.S. Congressman from Massachusetts

He graduated from Harvard and was elected U.S. Congressman from Massachusetts. He married Mabel, daughter of the celebrated poet James Russell Lowell. They lived at her childhood home, Elmwood, at Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is now the President's House at Harvard. He was an agricultural and dairy expert who advised wealthy estate owners and worked with Frederick Law Olmsted (1822–1903) at Biltmore, as well as at Florham and Reid Hall
