Dr. Charles DeKay Cooper (1769-1831)

of Albany; Physician, County Judge & Secretary of State of New York

He is remembered for his letters published in the Albany Register to Andrew Brown and Philip Schuyler recounting Alexander Hamilton's comments on Aaron Burr which he heard at a dinner party hosted by his father-in-law (John Tayler), which led to the Burr/Hamilton duel that resulted in Hamilton's death in 1804.
