Douglas Walter Campbell (1877-1926)
of 33 Avenue d'Antin, Paris, France
He was born in London and was educated at Charterhouse and Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1899 he married Aimée La Farge Lawrence of New York City. They settled in Paris and he served with the 30th Lancers during World War I. He was heir to his cousin the 10th Duke of Argyll but having predeceased him (he died of an illness he contracted the War) the Dukedom was continued by his only son, Ian.
