David Mackenzie (1926-2009)
Q.C., of Mackenzie Gervais/Borden Ladner Gervais, of Montreal
He graduated from the Law Faculty of McGill University in 1951. He co-founded the law firm Mackenzie Gervais which in 2000 was one of four firms (including McMaster Meighen of Montreal) that merged to become Borden Ladner Gervais. Through his wife, Mackenzie had a long association as a Board Member of the Mackay Centre School (founded by her family) that provides services and schooling to deaf and disabled children in Montreal. He also established the David Mackenzie Fund in Securities, Corporate Finance and Financial Market Regulations at McGill University. He married Joan, daughter of Allan Mackay M.B.E., of Montreal, and they had three children: Diana, Mrs Paul Duckett; Daphne, Mrs Eric Spindler; and, Peter, married to Kate Zeidler.
