David Franks (1720-1794)

Merchant & Provincial Assemblyman, of "Woodford" Germantown, Philadelphia

He purchased "Woodford" (see images) near Philadelphia in 1771 from his sister-in-law, Rebecca (Evans) Barclay, whose husband died that year. Franks added a second floor and a rear extension of two-stories, tripling the size of the house.
