Daniel Benezet (1723-1797)

Merchant, Alderman & Justice, of Philadelphia

He was a prominent merchant and "the supporter of many civic causes" in Philadelphia. In 1768, he was elected to the American Philosophical Society. His brother, Anthony, led the Abolitionist movement in both England and America.
