Cyril Richard Tobin (1881-1977)
Senior Partner with Tobin & Tobin and Director of the Hibernia Bank, San Francisco
He succeeded his uncle, Joseph Tobin, as senior partner of Tobin & Tobin (founded by his grandfather in 1853) and remained as the firm's dominant force until his death in 1977. The Hibernia Bank (co-founded by his grandfather) continued to be the firm's principal client, and for a period the firm's offices were located on the second floor of the Bank's headquarters at One Jones Street. The headquarters of Tobin & Tobin is now found at 500 Sansome and the California Historical Society has since placed the firm on its register, "in recognition of more than a century of service and contribution to California's economic growth and vitality." He kept a country estate (pictured courtesy of Gardens of America) at 360 Poett Road in Hillsborough.
