Col. Richard Tilghman (1739-1810)
of "The Hermitage" Queen Anne's Co., Maryland
He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Lower Battalion of Queen Anne's County in the Revolution. He married his cousin but they died without issue and he left "The Hermitage" to his nephew, Richard Cooke, who took the name "Tilghman".
