Col. Paul Emile Ostiguy (1891-1970)

Stockbroker, of 766 Sherbrooke Street, Montreal; Knight of the Order of Malta

He was a stockbroker in Montreal and in 1938 he was appointed Vice-President of the Canadian Stock Exchange. Commissioned in 1913, he was commanding officer of the Laval COTC and in 1916-17 he recruited the 1st and 2nd Tank Battalions. During the Second World War, he served on the War Finance Committee and in 1945 was appointed honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd Medium Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. He was a Chamberlain of the Cape & Sword to His Holiness Pope John; Knight of the Order of Malta; and, an Officer of the Order of Merit of Malta. He was awarded the Canadian Decoration for services in the Armed Forces in peace and war. He married Marguerite, daughter of Senator J-M Wilson and had four sons and a daughter.
