Edward Lloyd VI (1798-1861)

of "Wye House" Talbot Co., Maryland

He is often referred to as "The Farmer" to differentiate him from the other Edward Lloyds of Wye House. In direct contrast to his forefathers, he didn't enter politics, lived simply on his plantation, and rarely entertained. He owned an estimated 700-slaves including those on his Mississippi Valley plantations. In 1824, he married Alicia, daughter of Michael McBlair, Merchant of Baltimore, and had 5-children.
