Col. Edward Dorsey (1646-1705)

of "Hockley-in-the-Hole Plantation" & Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland

He built a townhouse in 1685 at what is now 211 Prince George Street, but it burned down in 1713 and the house seen in its place today (pictured) was not his home, and therefore not the oldest house in Annapolis as is frequently claimed.
