Charles Pierrepont Henry Gilbert (1861-1952)

C.P.H. Gilbert, Architect, of New York City

He  was born in New York City and was educated in America and in Europe, notably at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He became one of the principal architects in New York during the Gilded Age, noted for his mansions and townhouses. His works include the Woolworth's Winfield Hall, Pembroke & the Harry F. Sinclair House. In 1896, he married Florence Cecil Moss and had two children. They lived between 33 Riverside Drive in Manhattan and Newport, Rhode Island.
