Charles Monk (1753-1785)
Officer in the 45th Regiment
He fought in the American War of Independence. He married Sarah, daughter of the Rev. Joshua Waddington, and they were the parents of the Rt. Rev. James Henry Monk, D.D., Bishop of Gloucester & Bristol.
