Capt. Samuel Hinckley (1730-1798)

Captain in the Continental Army, of Brookfield, Worcester Co., Massachusetts

He was a great-grandson of Thomas Hinckley, Governor of Plymouth Colony. During the Revolution, he sided with the patriotic cause and as a Captain fought at the Battle of White Plains (1776), when he was severely wounded in the leg.
