Caldwell Hart Colt (1858-1894)
Commodore "Collie" Colt, of Hartford, Connecticut
He was the only child of his parents to reach adulthood. Like his father, he was an inventor, and created the Colt double-barrel rifle. But, otherwise the family firearms business held no interest to him. He was a passionate yachtsman, Commodore of the Larchmont Yacht Club in New York and vice-Commodore of the New York Yacht Club. He was unmarried and the cause of his death remains a mystery.
