Benning Wentworth (1696-1770)

Benning Wentworth, Lieutenant-Governor of New Hampshire

He married Angela Ruck and had three sons, all of whom predeceased him. In 1760, five years after she died, he married his housekeeper, Martha Hilton, who after his death married his cousin, Michael. Martha is the subject of the poem "Lady Wentworth" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
