Arthur George Sedgwick (1844-1915)
of New York City; Lawyer, Journalist & Assistant Editor of the 'Evening Post'
He fought in the Civil War with the Union Army. He was captured by the Confederates in 1864 and confined to the notorious Libby Prison in Richmond, an experience that wrecked his health and nearly killed him. He returned to Harvard after the war and graduated (LL.B.) in 1866.
