Arthur C. Jackson (1866-1941)
Arthur C. Jackson, Architect, of New York City
He was born at Utica, New York, and was educated at Utica Academy before receiving a B.A. from Harvard University in 1888. He then took himself to Paris and studied in the Atelier Durer, then graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts. From 1898 to 1907, he was employed by the firm of Carrère & Hastings in New York and performed important work in preparing the plans for the New York Public Library. He next worked for LaFarge & Morris from 1909 to 1911 before starting out on his own, "devoting himself principally to the design of city and country private homes". He was unmarried and lived at 124 W. 55th Street in Manhattan with offices at 501 Fifth Avenue.
