Annie Burr Jennings (1855-1939)

of "Sunnieholme" Founder of the Birdcraft Sanctuary at Fairfield, Connecticut

She lived at her 30-room mansion "Sunnieholme" (see images) on the Old Post Road at Fairfield. She financed the creation of the Birdcraft Sanctuary at Fairfield - the oldest private songbird sanctuary in the United States - which was created in conjunction with her friend, the prolific author Mabel Osgood Wright. She was unmarried.
